That initial idea! The doodle on a post it note over a coffee! Then gets translated here at SP1 in to that first dream ideation! Our most powerful tools are still the Wacom with photoshop and the iPad with Procreate! This part of the process doesn’t stop through out the project but aids the evolution right to the final delivery and re-sketch of the final design!

There are many ways to get that initial sketch into 3D, but by far one of our favourite and most collaborative team ways is by using VR headsets and Gravity Sketch!

Once we are happy with the initial Gravity Sketch Concepts here at SP1 we then export that data into Alias Surface - tune the highlights, hybrid the data with some surfaces and get ready to CNC Mill the data(model board and clay) and rapid prototype parts.

Utilising our 6m x 5m ITP HA300 CNC Mill we take our design data no matter the size setup our specially developed cutters and set to machining the latest designs for the physical reviews.

It doesn’t get much more exciting that watching your designs grow over the day/night from liquid resins! Here at SP1 we love seeing the parts come to life from our mix of Stratsys and Formlabs machines!

One firm favourite in the process tree here at SP1 is clay modelling! We love nothing better than fine tuning our designs, and adding the critical surface refinements that make the designs less wooden than if just CAD developed.

As we get closer to the final data for each project we refine and package up the data for processing into Unreal Engine and Vred. Using these tools we create a variety of uses for the clients from 2D still renders to animations and pushing into creating virtual studios and products can be reviewed in.

As the design is finalised we spend a pain staking amount of time 3d scanning and then working through the high lighting, curvature continuity and engineering section requirements to support the final tooling of the parts.
